Bebe Moore Campbell Minority Mental health Awareness Month
By Hanna Blankenship
As July was Bebe Moore Campbell Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, we would like to highlight the work of Bebe Moore Campbell, to who the month was dedicated. Bebe Moore Campbell was a pioneer in advocating for equitable mental health care, especially for Black and African-American communities. Through her best-selling books and powerful NPR commentations, she spoke on the harmful mental health stigma in black communities, and how that affected her experience as a Black woman in America.
We could not do the work we do without leaders such as Bebe Moore Campbell, paving the way. We are so thankful for her dedication to furthering equitable mental health, celebrate her accomplishments this month, and look forward to continuing her powerful work in Vermont.
